Harry

Today Harry is gone. I live far from him and his family but he was always with me. One of those voices that said, “Why not?” when I could only say no. He taught me by example to not judge, not worry and to savor the day before me as full of possibilities to be treasured and enjoyed. I don’t like to think of what I was like before Harry and Marilyn. I do remember it was like a great door swung open and there was light and life. I was depressed and lonely and they taught me that I was never alone when their home was open. I visited them last year and realized that without their profound example of kindness and love I would not be me. Not goodbye, Harry. Never goodbye. If you’re not doing anything later, come over and sit in my heart for a while and we’ll talk.
